Título: ADA – An autonomic agent for self-tuning in PostgreSQL databases

Resumo:  With the increasing complexity of applications using Database Management Systems (DBMSs), and  considering the diversity of the workload used by these applications, autonomic solutions are increasingly required to meet DBMSs complex problems of today. The optimization of a DBMS is a complex task to be performed, because in order to get it, it need to be considered several factors that can interfere in the correct configuration of parameters that can affect the DBMS performance, such as analysis of available   hardware resources, environment variables, etc. This paper presents ADA, an autonomic system capable of, gradually, tune the parameters in a PostgreSQL DBMS that have relation with its performance, always considering the actual load being submitted to the database and the environment where it is inserted, with the aim of improving its performance.
